We just returned from an adventurous spring break at Zion National Park. We took our trailer out for the first time ever. That in itself was a brave move because we still didn't know how everything worked in our trailer. As a result we weren't able to shower while we were gone...a luxury I have been taking for granted. We stayed at Zion Ponderosa Ranch just outside the park. It was beautiful. The pool was just around the corner from us and while it looked very inviting, the water was FREEZING! We could only stand to dip our feet in for a few seconds. Rob made a couple of what he thought were "safe bets." He told Hayden that if he jumped in the deep end (6 1/2 feet deep) and touched the bottom he would give him $10. He made a few similar dares and we left the pool with $17 out of our pockets--Hayden taking $12 and Abby taking $5. They were thrilled! We ended up coming home a day early because Abby and I weren't feeling well. As soon as we got home I called the doctor's office and got us appointments and sure enough we both tested positive for strep throat. After taking ibuprofen, our antibiotics and showering we were in our beds. I love modern medicine, showers, and comfy beds. Even when you're sick, life can be wonderful.
We hiked 2.6 miles to the three Emerald Pools. I carried Weston most of the way...mostly because we were terrified that he would run off a cliff. That boy has the most energy I have ever seen. It seems like he runs everywhere he goes. It makes me tired just watching him. Recently I had to have a Code Adam done at Wal-Mart because he ran so far, so fast that we were at separate ends of the huge, long aisle. He was racing me to the end of the next aisle, then the next, and the next. At the next aisle, he was gone. I ran down the long aisle and back the other way. He was nowhere to be found. I ran to the front by the door and asked the cashier to do a code Adam. She said, "You'll have to go to the customer service desk and ask them to do one. I said, "You don't understand. He is two and he will run right out of the store!" She showed me a cashier nearby that had a phone. I immediately went to her and had her do the code Adam. She described what he was wearing and in a couple of minutes I saw a woman emerge from the cereal aisle carrying Weston. He was holding a box of cereal and said upon seeing me, "Mom, I want this." No fear, no remorse...nothing. I really have to keep all my eyes on this one...especially the ones in the back of my head.

Tempting...
Zions and Blogging.
Looks like you had fun!
Wow, Zion's park is cool how the spring waters flow from the rock formations and the rocks are so smooth they can be used as slides. Maybe an 8th wonder of the world. Very cool!
I'm so glad you have a blog. I love the pictures.
